Alice Elizabeth “Betty” Sherrod Malott, 82, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 at Hospice Savannah.
She was born in Swainsboro, Ga., and was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Sherrod and Janie Norman Sherrod.
She was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church, where she was Chairman of the Bereavement Committee, the Grace Sunday School Class, General Secretary, member of the Kitchen Committee and the Sanctuary Choir for 70 years.
She was a 16 year Volunteer at Hospice Savannah, Inc.
She is survived by 2 sons, Dallas Eugene Malott, St. Cloud, Fla; and Dennis Norman Malott (Barbara) of Rincon, Ga; 2 daughters, Rhonda Stafford (William Eugene) of Midway, Ga; and Lynn Woods of Savannah, Ga; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday at Ardsley Park Baptist Church.
Funeral Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Ardsley Park Baptist Church, with Rev. Jonathan Tillman and Rev. Edward W. “Buddy” Clay, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Section of Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
