Ann Torbyn DeLoach passed from this world on January 8th, 2016 after a brief illness.
She was born in 1917 on Staten Island, New York and graduated from Staten Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 as an RN. Mrs. DeLoach was a resident of Savannah since 1943. After 19 years of raising 3 children, she resumed her nursing career at Candler Hospital for 22 years. She enjoyed traveling, and was a member of St. James Catholic Church for over 40 years.
She is survived by 3 children: Stephen DeLoach(retired Navy Captain) and his wife, Jennie, of Pensacola, FLA, Diane Andrews and her husband, Bob, of Cockeysville, MD, and John DeLoach and his wife, Linda, of Bloomingdale, GA, and sister, Sophie Horvath, of Old Bridge, NJ. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh DeLoach (1975), her parents, Stephen and Helen Torbyn, her brother, Charles Torbyn, and her sister, Mary Jochym.
The family will have a visitation from 6-8pm on Monday, January 11 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Mark J. Ross officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery.
