Anna Marie Bily, 83 of Savannah passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by family and love. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and compassion that touched everyone she met.
Born November 5, 1940 in New York City to Anna Bily and Michael Bily. She graduated High School from Washington Irving. After becoming a mother and traveling with her children and sister across the US and Mexico, she completed school at Columbia Greene School of Nursing.
Anna Marie dedicated her life to helping others as a registered nurse specializing in geriatrics, with a career spanning many years at Adventist Nursing Home and Pine Haven in upstate New York. Her gentle care and unwavering dedication brought comfort to countless lives, and her work left a lasting impact on her community and children. .
Outside of her profession, Anna Marie was a woman of many passions. She loved plants and gardening, finding joy in nurturing beauty around her home. Shopping, cooking, reading, painting, and crafting filled her days during retirement. She adored entertaining loved ones with her vibrant spirit. Anna Marie had a flair for fashion and admired the timeless elegance of Jacqueline Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana- icons who reflected her own grace and strength.
She is survived by her children Anja, Kara, Leal, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who will always remember their “Baba.” by carrying forward her memory, along with her two brothers and one sister. She was predeceased by her son, Jassen. Her family will always cherish her laughter, her tight “squeezes,” and the warmth of her kisses.
Anna Marie Bily’s laughter and spirit will be deeply missed, but the love and light she shared will live on in those who knew her.
A ceremony to celebrate her life will be held for family and friends this spring in Savannah.
