Anne M. Ellis, age 97, of Savannah passed away Thursday, July 30th, 2015 at her residence under the care of Hospice Savannah.
A native of Edgefield County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of John Miller McKinney and Anna Powell McKinney. Coming to Savannah from Augusta, Anne and her husband, the former State Representative, Morriss W. Ellis spent most of their lives here in Savannah.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers, Johnny, Lewis and Bill as well as her sister Irene Faulkner, she is survived by her sons, Joel Weatherford (Virginia), Wayne Weatherford (Becky) and Barry Weatherford, all of Millen, her daughters, Cindy Lynah and Jeni Ellis-Riggs, both of Savannah, her sister-in-law, Mary Evelyn Burton, of Talladega, Alabama, her grandchildren, Lea Wright, Keri Cales, Gina Harbin, Joel Weatherford, Beth Vickers, James Lynah, Jr., Wesley Lynah, Jessica Lynah, Bryan Weatherford and Tany Marion, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Monday from 12 pm to 1 pm at Bonaventure Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Bonaventure Funeral Home Chapel with Father Steve Evans officiating. Private entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
