Barbara Kirkland, 52, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 at home under the excellent care of Hospice Savannah surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara Ann Kirkland was born September 18, 1957 in Savannah, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. George and Dorothy Kirkland. She was a 1975 graduate of Savannah High School. In 2005, Barbara studied the "What Does The Bible Really Teach?" with Jehovah's Witnesses (her teacher was Barbara Sharpe).
She leaves to cherish her memories: two devoted daughters, Felicia K. Brown (Samuel, Jr.) of Savannah, Georgia, and Jade Kirkland; one loving son, Tommy Whaley Jr.; three sisters, Sarah Johnson, Ida McPherson (Reginald) of Rincon, Georgia, and Iris Kirkland of Savannah, Georgia; six brothers, Larry McPherson (Sandra) of Chicago, Illinois, George W. Kirkland, Jr., Stevie, Anthony, Thomas, and Michael Kirkland all of Savannah, Georgia; a special and devoted niece, Pamela Kirkland and her son Javante' Kirkland; six grandchildren, two who she raised, Regina C. Whaley, Saliciah A. Brown, Samuel Brown, III, Tre'Quan A.L. Brown, Samishah B. Brown and Randell Grant; one uncle, Frank Kirkland of Springfield, Georgia; special friends, Trevor and Barbara Sharpe, Wanda Jones, Mary Jones, Sister Donnie Marie Coward, Luell Whaley, Tommie Whaley Sr.; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Barbara Kirkland will be held 3 P.M., Saturday, March 27, 2010 in the chapel of Williams & Williams Funeral Home, 1012 East Gwinnett Street.
