Beatrice C. Surrency passed away peacefully at Candler Hospital surrounded by her daughters on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.
Mrs. Surrency was born in Sandybottom, GA on June 3; a special gift to the late Sampson and Virginia Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion S. Surrency, her brother Calvin Palmer and sister Christine Bell.
She is survived by her three daughters, all of Savannah: Patricia S. Tyson, Mercer S. Simpson, Marilyn S. Patterson, (Howard), one special son-in law W. Fred Tyson, one sister, Daisy Favors of Pearson, GA, one brother, Joseph Cooper of Miami, FL and a special niece, Almisha S. Mattox of Savannah, GA, three grandsons: Frederick S. Tyson, (Jamila) of Atlanta, GA, Je'Marion Simpson of Savannah, and William Patrick Tyson of Virginia Beach, VA and a host of relatives and friends.
Her Home going Service will be held on October 14, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas A.M.E. Church on 3215 Burroughs Street, Savannah, GA. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Cemetery on Hunter Army Airfield Base.
