Betty Haldeman 81 passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Memorial Health. She was born in Liberty, MO on July 6, 1939. Betty married the love of her life, Bob Haldeman, 25 years ago in 1995. She was a passionate supporter of the Salvation Army for many years. She and Bob served Thanksgiving and Christmas Community meals there for the needy for almost 20 years. For the last 2 decades, Betty and Bob hosted an extravagant Christmas light display at their Gordonston home. They always included a Salvation Army donation bucket at this display. They raised over $60,000 throughout these years. Betty was also very passionate about the USO (United Service Organization) and the service they provide for active duty service members and military families. At one point, she became known as the "Brownie" Lady" after baking and donating thousands of brownies for our troops. Betty was a member of Asbury Memorial Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob; children, Paula Giles of Mobile, AL and Paul Lowe of Savannah; 7 grandchildren: Melynnie, Jennifer, Angela, Nick, Jessica, Jeffrey, and Paul III. The viewing will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, at the Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
