Billy Ray Healan, Sr., age 69, of Bloomingdale, left this world to be with the Lord on, Saturday, December 24, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Bonaventure Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Deas, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Billy was born June 7, 1942 in Georgetown, South Carolina to the late Leonard Healan and Agnes Louise Moore Healan. He was a painter by trade his entire life from early childhood, he also was employed with Dearing Chevrolet, operated his painting company and delivered The Savannah Morning News for many years in the Pooler area. He loved singing gospel music and ministered to so many through his song and testimony. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter in law Cecilia Healan of CA.
He is survived by his Bride of 51 years Jeannette Boatright Healan, Bloomingdale; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Ann H. Moore and husband Randy of Bloomingdale; Christi Healan and fiance, Michael of Savannah; son and daughter-in-law, Billy Ray Healan, Jr. and wife Cindy of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Marea and Michelle of CA; Carrie, Kevin and Lucas of Bloomingdale; three great-grandchildren of CA; brothers, Gene Healan of Jesup, Jimmy Healan of Faulkville and Danny Healan of Ellabell; a sister Doni Goff of South Carolina ; a sister-in-law, Betty Wasson of Bloomingdale and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Bonaventure Funeral Home.
