Blanche Williams Brannen, 90, of Garden City, Ga., died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at her residence after a short illness.
She was born in Portal, Georgia, and was preceded in death by her parents Fed Williams and Annie Williams, and her husband, Willie Mitchell “Bill” Brannen.
She was a graduate of the Portal High School, in Portal, Georgia, and was a member of Clayton P. Miller United Methodist Church, until it closed, and then affiliated with Morningside Baptist Church.
She had formally worked for over 30 years with Meddin Bros., and then worked as a saleslady for Eleanor’s Dress Shop.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Shirley Slater of Charleston, SC; Mary Jane Kerley, Waco, Texas; and Barbara B. Lockhart, Garden City, Ga, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel.
Funeral Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in the Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel, with Rev. Larry Speir, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Garden City, officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, in the Old Rugged Cross Garden.
