Bobby Ray Patton, age 82, of Savannah, died on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Candler Hospital.
A native of Cedar Grove, Tennessee, he was the son of R.D. Patton and Burnice Usery Patton. Mr. Patton was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired as Chief Deputy Sheriff of State Court after 29 ½ years with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department. A 33rd Degree Mason, he was Past Master of his Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, and Commander of Post 135 of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Frances S. Patton; his son, Bobby Patton, Jr. (Jacquelyn); his daughter, Deborah Greene (Kevin); a brother, Richard Patton (Carolyn); and four grandchildren, Bobby Patton (Elizabeth), Brandon Patton, Megan Leggett, and Jacob Strickland.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Bonaventure Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 18 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel of Bonaventure Funeral Home with Doctor Morgan Kerr and Reverend Richard Patton officiating. Pallbearers: Bobby Patton, III, Brandon Patton, Jacob Strickland, Carl Smith, Don Cope, and Glen Veale. Interment: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
