Clara Atha Moss, age 100, died a day before her 101st birthday, Thursday evening, September 15, 2011 at Hospice Savannah with her family by her bedside.
The funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 19, 2011 at Bonaventure Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leslie Pulley and Rev. Scott Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Timothy Moss, Jimmy Moss, Kevin Moss, Randy Moss, Jason Moss and Dieter Grell serving as pallbearers.
Clara Atha was born in Cedar Grove, GA on September 16, 1910 to the late John Nathaniel Tapley and Cassie Miller Tapley. She was a member of the Non-Denominational Faith. She was best known for her homemade biscuits and for being a great cook, her family remembers of her.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Arnold Moss and wife Marsha of Pooler, J. L. Moss and wife Gwendolyn of Rincon and Jack Moss and wife Jackie of Savannah, two sisters, Nola T. Muschwech of Guyton and Katherine T. Boccieri of Tampa, Fl, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; James Clarence Moss, husband; three brothers and two sisters.
The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 noon till 1:45 pm, September 19, 2011, at Bonaventure Funeral Home.
