Colonel Newton E. Brown Usaf (Retired)

Colonel Newton E. Brown USAF (Retired), 95, of Savannah, Georgia, widower of Frances Renfro Brown, died Monday, November 30 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
He was born on June 23, 1920 in Pomeroy, Ohio, a son of the late Huber Brown and Ruth Newton Brown. He attended the University of Kentucky.
Colonel Brown was a World War II veteran, flying as a Navigator/Bombardier on 25 missions in B-25s from bases in Northern Africa and Italy. He completed his career flying B-50s, B-45s, B-47s and B-52s. His final assignment was as a senior member of the USAF Pentagon Battle Staff. He retired from the Air Force in 1965 and returned to Savannah, Georgia.
He was an avid basketball fan and loved his Kentucky Wildcats.
He is survived by three daughters, Betty B. Mauldin, Teresa B.Lovell and Christina B. Emerick; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 am Saturday, December 5 at Fairhaven Funeral Home -Hubert C. Baker Chapel, Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
