Covington Clarence Harper, age 87, of Shepherdsville, KY and formerly of Savannah, died peacefully on January 10, 2011 at the home of his Granddaughter in Shepherdsville, KY.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, January 14, 2011, from Bonaventure Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ricky Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Marvin Mitchell, Sr., Vincent Alan Gray, David Eugene Grayson, Henry Benson, Joe Singley and Brian Simeral.
Mr. Harper was born in Claxton, on December 6, 1924, to the late Lanie Allen Harper and Thomas C. Harper. He was a retired Security Guard with Georgia Ports Authorities and was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Eastern Gate Baptist Church in Shepherdsville, KY, and was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Mae Harper, son; Eddie Harper, two grandsons and two brothers.
Survivors include: 3 Granddaughters, 3 Grandsons, one Brother Charlie Harper and wife Jo Ann of Middleburg, FL and 11 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
