David J. Rice

David J. Rice, age 82, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Candler Hospital. Born in Allendale, South Carolina, moved to Savannah at an early age. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and a barber for many years. Survivors: one son, Richard Rice of Gainsville, FL; one sister, Annie Rice (David); seven nieces, Lizza Fitts of Allendale, SC, Lorraine Flowers (Quillie) Ann Davis (Johnny), Phelen Green, Josephine Shuman (Larry), Betty Green, Cheryl Jones (Vincent) of Fayetteville, NC; five nephews, Enrico Harding (Diane) of Allendale, SC, Marion Green, William Green, Bobby Battle (Felicia), James Battle (Kamerica); and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services for David Rice will be held 1pm Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Chapel of Williams & Williams, 1012 E. Gwinett Street.
