David H.N. Roote of Pooler, GA. was called home to Heaven on April 21, 2016. He was born September 18, 1938 in Nashville, Tn. to Thomas S. Roote, Sr. and Mary Olga Price.

David graduated from Moultrie Sr. High School in 1956 and later obtained a B.A. at Jackson University, Jackson, Tn. and a M.A. from Georgia Peabody College, Nashville, Tn. in Education. He did additional studies at Stetson University, Deland, Fl., Millersville State College, Millersville Station, Pa. and later completed coursework to receive Georgia Certification in Special Education at Carrollton, Georgia. He attended seminary prior to joining the Air Force where he was a weather observer in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged on Jan. 11, 1965. He taught History, English and Art from 1965-1972. He became an Art Consultant for Northwest Georgia CESA in 1972 followed by Assistant Principal and Principle from 1977-1991 at Lakeview Jr. High, Ringold Intermediate North Georgia, MLK Jr. Elementary, McIntosh Middle and Radium Elementary in Albany, Georgia. In 1988 he designed and implemented the inventory system for the Dougherty County School System.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Booker Roote; children: David “Andrew” Roote, Amanda Roote Anderson (Claye) and step son, Dr. Tod Miller (Jennifer); grandchildren: Claye Andy Anderson, Jr. and Caroline Elizabeth Anderson; sisters: Susan Gay (Michael), Molly Lanham (Bob); sister-in-laws: Lorraine Roote and Cinda Brubaker; brother-in-law: Brian Booker; father-in-law: Merlin R. Booker; mother –in-law: Marjorie Subler Booker; nephews: James Roote, Robert Lanham, Sean Miller, Tom Lanham, Ryan Brubaker; Nieces: Patti Roote Lowe and Haven Zimmer.

He is preceded in death by his brother Thomas Stafford Roote, Jr.
