Deacon Moses Dent, 94, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Savannah Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
He was a World War II Veteran. Deacon Dent retired from Memorial Health U.M.C. where he worked as a ground's keeper. He began his church fellowship at Zion Star Baptist Church, but later moved his membership to St. Thomas Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Dent, mother Hannah Greene Dent, and hs wife, Katie Jackson Dent.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Carrie Morrell; sons, Robert Dent and Walter Banks; sister, Alma Dent; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Thomas Baptist Church, 1100 East Park Avenue; Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery. Reposing at the church from 9:00 a.m. until hour of service.
