Diane Robbins

October 28, 1946 — February 27, 2016

Diane Robbins, 69, of Savannah, GA, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Hospice Savannah after a brief illness. She was born on October 28, 1946 in Oceanside, CA to John and Doris Thompson.
Diane held many long-term positions throughout the years with U.S. Lines, Lockwood-Greene Engineers, Candler Hospital (Plant Operations), and Belford Land Title. She loved music and dancing and was a long-time member of the Savannah Shag Club. She was very creative and enjoyed working with arts and crafts.
Diane truly cherished her family and her many friends. She shared their joys and sorrows throughout the years. She was a comforter, a welcomer, an embracer, meeting every opportunity to be there for everyone. She lived for her family, giving them all her love from the depths of her heart. During the last two years she has longed deeply for her beloved Delano. Diane recently found herself in the midst of a raging battle of illness similar to his and endured bravely and valiantly without complaint. She did not lose the battle, she was delivered from it. Now she is comforted, welcomed and embraced by our beautiful Lord and by Delano.
Diane is survived by her mother, Doris Thompson, sister and brother-in-law Jan and Larry Dillon, brother and sister-in-aw Terry and Janet Thompson; daughter and son-in-law Tonya Renee and Buddy Griner, stepdaughter and son-in-law Tina and Joe Pope, stepdaughter and son-in-law Debbie and Wayne Rozier, and stepson Dale Robbins; grandsons Jake Griner, Josh Griner, Jesse Griner, and Jacob Rozier; granddaughters Ashley Rozier Chipple, Brittany Rozier, and Rachel Robbins; great-grandsons Kohen Rozier and Dalton Chipple; many nieces and nephews. Diane is preceded in death by her husband Delano Robbins, father John Thompson, brother Alan Thompson, and nephew Brian Thompson.
The family would like to extend thanks to Diane’s many doctors and caregivers, especially Hospice Savannah.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, at Baker-McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, formerly Fairhaven Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Ga 31406.
