Donnie G. Peacock, 68, of Savannah, passed away on Saturday July 28, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Donnie was born June 14, 1944 and served with the U.S. Army in Korea during the Viet Nam War. He retired on October 19, 2009 after 24 years with St. Joseph’s/ Candler as a Safety/Security Officer, having received the James R. Lientz Humanitarian Award. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Savannah.
Mr. Peacock was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle & Buford Peacock and two sisters, Elevena Foshee & Jean Mikell. He is survived by his former wife of 28 years, Gladys; his son, Joseph Peacock; a granddaughter, Taylor Peacock; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday July 30th from 6-8 P.M. at Bonaventure Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday July 31st in the Savannah Chapel of Bonaventure Funeral Home with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
