Dorothy Amanda Robinson was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Charlie Robinson and Emma Smalls on November 11, 1918. She spent her early childhood in Savannah, Georgia and attended public schools in Chatham County. In her thirties, she was employed in Long Island, NY as a domestic worker and she worked as a cook in the cafeteria of an elementary school in Chatham County School System.
Sister Robinson was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1970. She was dedicated and faithful servant of Jehovah God and was a member of the Savannah North Congregation. She loved talking to people about Jehovah God's Kingdom and his son Jesus Christ throughout the city of Savannah during her volunteer ministry. She lovingly extended herself to family, strangers, and friends during times of need.
Dorothy Robinson passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at home under the excellent care of Gentiva Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Brown, Sr.
Mrs. Robinson leaves to cherish her memories: son, Henry Brown, Jr.; seven grandsons; eleven granddaughters; a host of great grandchildren; sister, Almeita Bowens; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Family visitation will be held Friday, October 12, 2013 from 1:00 PM ~ 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Williams & Williams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Williams & Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
