Mr. Edward M. "Whimpy" Dyson,90, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009 at home under the excellent care of Hospice, surrounded by his devoted wife,children, and grandchildren.
Brother Edward Dyson was born July 12, 1918 to the late Richard M. Dyson and Lillie Chisolm in Ridgeland, SC. He was educated in the public schools of Savannah, GA. He was employed in the Hospitality Industry for a short while and then in the early 30's he obtained fruitful employment upon the waterfront with the local #1414 until he retired. June 30, 1948, he was joined in holy matrimony to the late Rosalee Firall. From this union three sons were born and one son (Carl) preceded him in death.
He was a faithful member and supporter of First Bryan and he re-entered matrimony on November 20, 2007, to Margaret Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife, Margaret Williams Dyson; two sons, Kennith Dyson, and Avon Dyson (Stephanie); three daughters, Marie Bowman, Vickie Capers, and Tanya Humes (Mario); five sisters-in-law, Janice Taylor (Joe), Rosalie Carter (Freddie), Janette Blake, Patricia Doyle, and Frankie Mae Doyle; seven brothers-inlaw, David Polite, Arthur Doyle, Steven Doyle (Diana), Willie Doyle, Leroy Doyle, James Doyle, and Cleveland Doyle; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Edward M. Dyson will be held 12 noon Monday, July 6, 2009 at First Bryan Baptist Church, 575 West Bryan Street, with Rev. Edward L. Ellis, Jr., Pastor; Minister, Beverly Drayton, officiating. Visitation: 5-7:30pm., Sunday in the Chapel of the funetal home. Reposing at 10am, Monday until hour of service.
