On September 25, 2012, Mother answered the call of God and found her place of rest.
Mother Eloise Wilson Flagg was born to the late Daniel and Fannie J. Wilson on December 15, 1914. She was the eldest of three children and was preceded in death by her two brothers, Daniel Wilson, II and Calvin Wilson.
This Savannah native accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was Baptized at Second African Baptist Church at an early age under the Pastorate of the Rev. Edgar Perry Quarterman. Mother Flagg received her Bachelor of Science degree from Savannah State College (now University). She also did advance studies and received her Master's Degree from Atlanta University.
She married Joseph H. Flagg, who preceded her in death, and moved to Screven County where she served over thirty years at Central High School as a teacher and a counselor. There in Screven County, she joined the St. Paul Baptist Church where she rendered many years of dedicated service. Mother Flagg was a member of several community and civic organizations and was a faithful member of Alpha Gamma Chi Sorority Inc. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two faithful nephews, Willie Wilson, Sr. and Albert Wilson both of Savannah; a grand niece, Carole W. (Charles) Scott of Savannah; a grand nephew Willie (Deborah) Wilson, Jr. of Savannah, one sister-in-law, Annabell W. Lark and a host of other relatives and lifelong friends.
Funeral service for Eloise W. Flagg will be Held 11:00am Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Second African Baptist Church, 123 Houston Street, Rev. C. MeGill Brown officiating. Interment, Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Reposing at the church Wednesday, 9am until hour of service.
