Esther Mae Hofaker Carver

Mrs. Esther Mae Carver passed away November 6th, 2014.
Esther was born near Logan, Kansas on May 12, 1923 to Richard A. Hofaker and Jennie Mulder Hofaker. She grew to woman-hood around Logan, graduating from Logan High School earning a teaching certificate from Logan's Normal Training Teaching Program.
In December of 1944 she married 1st Lieutenant Lloyd Carver at a military chapel in Midland, Texas. Their marriage was blessed for 62 years until Lloyd's passing in February 2007.
During their military tours, Esther attended many universities and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. In 1977, she received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Esther continued to teach at White Bluff Elementary School in Savanah until her retirement in July of 1988, accumulating 30 1/2 years of teaching.
In April of 2009 she moved from Savannah to Bonaire, Georgia to be closer to her daughter Kay and her family.
Surviving are a son Ronald Carver of Savannah, daughter, Kay Miller and her husband Frank Miller of Bonaire. Sister, Freida States, brother Richard D. Hofaker and his wife Doris Hofaker of Logan, Kansas. Four grandchildren, Karen Carver and Allyson Carver, Frankie Miller and Sharol Reid. Four great-grandchildren, Shylin, Demetri and Lola Carver, Frank Elliott Miller, VI, and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday November 9, 2014 at Bonaventure Funeral Home, 2520 Bonaventure Road, Savannah, GA 31404.
Graveside Service will be Monday November 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
