Eugene Sellow

August 30, 1938 — February 21, 2019

Eugene Sellow was born August 30, 1938 in Savannah, Georgia, the eldest
of five siblings.
He attended the Chatham County Public School System, where he attended
Woodville High School. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the US Army, completed
Boot Camp at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC, was assigned to the 3 rd ID and
completed his tour of duty in Germany.
Later in life Eugene married the late Joyce Beamon. From that union they
had four children, Donell, Stephanie, Pamela and Karen. He then married
Carolyn and from that union they had one child, Brent.
He was a Christian, who never hesitated to share the good news of Jesus
Christ. He was a faithful member of the West Broad Street Seventh Adventist
Church here in Savannah, GA, Seventh Day Adventist Churches in Montclair, NJ,
Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Sun City, Arizona.
He furthered his education and was certified in Air Conditioning and
Refrigeration.
He lived the majority of his life in Kansas where he was employed at the
Shawnee Mission Hospital as an Air Conditioner and Refrigeration Specialist and
was an instructor in Diversity Training. He retired after 30 years of dedicated
service and immediately after retirement, he volunteered at the same Hospital as a
greeter. He also enjoyed visiting Nursing Homes just to spread the Gospel and to
encourage anyone he came in contact with. Then he moved to Sun City, Arizona.
Thursday, February 21, 2019 Eugene was called Home after his battle with
Lewy Body Dementia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Sellow,
Grandfather, Eugene Sellow, Grandmothers, Albertha Sellow and Elizabeth
Bryant. His brother John (Bob) Sellow, son Anthony Banks, and grandson Ethan
Sellow.
He leaves to honor his memory his wife, Carolyn Sellow, Sun City, Arizona,
son’s Donell Eugene Sellow (Cheryl), Waldorf, MA and Brent Sellow, Phoenix,
Arizona. His daughters, His heartbeats, Stephanie Sellow-Elliott, (his favorite)
Pamela Sellow-Rountree (Larry), and Karen Sellow-Preer (Richard), all of
Savannah, GA. His sisters, Helen Sellow, Blounda Gadson, both of Paterson, New
Jersey, Barbara Gadson, Savannah, GA and his sister-in-law, Margaret Sellow,
Paterson, New Jersey.
He also leaves to honor his memory, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
