SAVANNAH – Mrs. Fay Anderson Flowers, age 86, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Thunderbolt Transitional Care and Rehabilitation after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Mrs. Flowers was a native of Tattnall County and spent most of her life in Chatham County. She was a faithful and active member of Burkhalter Baptist Church for over 40 years where she taught Sunday School for the children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Flowers, Sr., stepdaughter, Joyce Roberson and stepson Wayne Flowers.
She is survived by stepchildren, Charles (Betty) Flowers, June Flowers, David Flowers, Jr., Emory (Ronnie) Flowers and Wade Flowers, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Remembrances of Fay Flowers can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 201 Television Cir, Savannah, GA 31406.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Thursday, October 8 at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home at 11:00am following the visitation Thursday, conducted by The Reverend Doctor Charles G. Cooper, her former pastor of over 20 years. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
