Franklin (Frank) L.R. Jenkins, age 79, died February 7, 2013 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
A Rosary will be said at 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 12th at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Father Chris Alghli, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
Frank was born May 2nd, 1933 in Wheeler County, Georgia to the late Louise Bryant and John Jenkins. Frank was a devoted member of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Men’s Chorus.
Frank served in the U.S. Military during the Korean Conflict, and was a Master Floral Designer, having retired from John Hall Florist. He worked at and assisted numerous Floral Operations in the Coastal Empire area and created “The Last Bouquet” in the State of South Carolina. He was a former member of the Holy Society, former member of the Parish Council, and a member of the Knights of Columbus; Alumnus of the North Carolina College and Savannah State College, he also studied at the Tommy Bright Design School of the University of Chicago.
Frank is survived by his Godfather, Otis Charlton of Savannah; God Sister, Dorothy Collins Jones of Savannah; 2 God Daughters, Antoinette Flournoy of Savannah & Debbie Hariston of Lithonia; God Son, Ricardo Williams of Savannah; Aunt, Edna Collins Williams of McRae; Niece, Dorothy S. Collins of Savannah; very dear and close friends, Anne & Martin Sauls of Ridgeland, South Carolina and Rosemary Banks & Bill Jackson, both of Savannah; cousins, Snook & Evelyn Wiggs of Tampa, Florida.
