George Cook

Deacon George Cook, 87, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Candler Hospital.

He was the owner and operator of Cook's Trucking Company. Deacon Cook was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church where he was the founder and President of the male chorus. He also served on the Deacon and Usher Boards.

He leaves to cherish his memories: sons, George Cook Jr. (tonyia) and Rashea Cook (Tamisha); daughters, Diane Gentles and Joan Cook; sister, Annie Lou Daniels of Bronx, NY, brothers, Joe Cook, Rev. Douglas Cook and Samuel Cook (Delpha) all of Miami, FL; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Deacon George Cook, Sr. will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010 at St. Luke Baptist Church, 418 West 38th Street, Rev. Lexie E. Aiken, Pastor, and Rev. Douglas Cook, Officiating. Interment: Woodville Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Friday in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Reposing at the Church Saturday 8 a.m. until hour of service.
