George Oliver Howe Mulligan, age 84, Died Wednesday Morning at Hospice of Savannah with his loving family at his side.
Mr. Mulligan was born September 22, 1924 in the family residence in Thunderbolt, GA to the late George O. Sr. and Mary Lillian Trumps. He was the youngest of three children and lived all his life in his beloved Thunderbolt.
After serving his country during WWII in the United States Army he worked for and retired from Continental Can. He was a retired member of the Thunderbolt Volunteer Fire Department, a proud member of the American Legion, George K. Gannam Post #184 and a member of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church.
Mr. Mulligan is also preceded in death by his brother Edwin Mulligan and his beloved sister Mary Etta Mulligan.
He is survived by his closest relatives; cousins Annie Mae White Peterson of Savannah, Robert Eugene White of Brownsville, TX and a host of loving cousins, friends and his faithful companion of many years, his poodle Buster.
The family will be receiving friends at the Bonaventure Funeral Home Thursday June 25, 2009 from 5 to 7pm . A rosary service will be held at 6pm. Mr. Mulligan’s Funeral Service will be held from the Bonaventure Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 10am followed by interment at Bonaventure Cemetery with Military Honors.
