Gilbert H. Silveira

February 18, 1942 — July 9, 2024

Mr. Gilbert Harold Silveira 82 passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Candler Hospital after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Taunton, MA where he Air Force and served as la jet mechanic during the Vietnam War. He later went on to aircraft mechanic school and moved to Savannah to start his career at Gulfstream, where he eventually retired from. He was a member of First Baptist Church-Islands. Preceeded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Madeline (Hudson) Silveira; wife, Dana E. Silveira; and sister, Carol A. Cabral. He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Militano (Greg) of Jacksonville, AL; Lori Smith (Craig) of Ellabell, GA; sister, Edith Machado (Bob) of Lexington, NC. Step-daughters, Shaye Stevens, Holly Brantley, Tonya Stevens, and Jenny Wyatt. 3 grandchlidren, 8 Step-grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday July 15, 2024 at Bonaventure Funeral Home 2520 Bonaventure Road., Savannah, GA. Graveside service will be begin at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memory gardens 315 Greenwich Rd. Savannah, GA
