Gladys Lou Mason Miller, daughter of the late George and Hitha Mason, was born on December 16, 1924in Louisville, Georgia. She was the only daughter of nine children born to them.
She was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System. Mrs. Miller was baptized in the Christian faith at a young age and served her Lord faithfully until her passing. She met her late husband, Charlie Miller, a.k.a. “Honey Child”, when they were young. They enjoyed over 60 years of wedded bliss. They were blessed with one daughter, Sandra Miller Cox. Seeking a Church of Faith, they both joined Mt. Tabor Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, as a Deaconess, as the President of the Gospel Chorus and was a member of the Hospitality Ministry.
Mrs. Miller was a loving grandmother and great grandmother. She took an active role in helping to raise her granddaughter, Shannon Cox Hall. She was overjoyed at the birth of her great granddaughter, Chandlar, who sang with and to her often. They shared many loving, playful hours together.
She was known for her pretty brown fried chicken and collard green dinners. Her son-in-law thought it was the best cooking Georgia had to offer. Her neighbors will always remember the kind gentle woman who sat on her porch, laughing and talking long lazy days away with those who may have been passing. Her kind spirit and loving heart will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by: eight brothers, Ozzie, Willis, Robert, Nathaniel, Millard, Ray, George, and Willie Paul.
Mrs. Miller leaves to cherish her many loving memories: daughter, Sandra Cox (Tony); granddaughters, Shannon Cox Hall (Antonio) and Charisma Cox; grandson, Jyrin Thayon Cox (Princess); great grandchildren, Chandlar, Makai, Caden, Daisha and Cameron; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
