Gloria Mae Green was born on September 13, 1937 in Savannah, Georgia to Iona Kittle and Nathaniel Green. She is the third child of two other sisters.
Gloria was educated in the Savannah Chatham School System. She graduated in 1955 from Alfred Ely Beach High School. She was very active in ceramics, arts and crafts, knitting and crochet. She joined St. John "The Mighty Fortress" at an early age. It was here that she sang in the church choir and was very active in all capacities in the church. She was a member of the Ruth Chapter No. 3. Gloria was active at the Tara Nursing Home where she taught some of the residents how to crochet.
On February 24, 2017, Gloria heard the Master call her.
She is preceded in death by: her two sisters, Audrey Mae Mitchell and Margie Mae Green.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories: two nieces, Iona Harris of Atlanta, GA and Esther Mae Mitchell of Savannah, GA; two nephews, Paul N. Mitchell (Evette) of Atlanta, GA and Ronald Mitchell of Atlanta, GA; godson, Rev. Frank Pinkney, Jr. of Idaho; special saints, George Etta Simmons, Ann Marie Grant, Gwen Mitchell, Essie Smart, Elvenia, Roberts Edwards, Phyllis Garrison, and James Tiggs; and other friends, cousins, relatives, church family and especially Sanayah Jenkins, London Marie Jenkins and Anya Mitchell; two very supportive people, Deacon James and Patricia Mitchell, who has been there from the start to finish.
