Gordon Edward Tyo, 87, of Statesboro, Ga., died May 5, 2016 at Ogeechee Hospice in Statesboro, Ga, after a long illness.
He was born in Potsdam, New York, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the 2nd Medical Group, in the US Air Force. He retired after 20 years of service.
He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service, for 22 years, having served at several branches, including the Eisenhower Branch. He was a member of the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by a daughter and son in law, Denise Tyo Burnsed and Richard Burnsed of Statesboro, Ga; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, in the Chapel of the Georgia Veterans Memorial Park, in Glennville, Ga., with Military Honors presented by the Robins Air Force Base Honor Guard.
