Gussie Green Rocker, age 96, died, Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness with her family at her side.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 9, 2011 at Bonaventure Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Herbert Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Craig Tootle, Matthew Nelson, Scott Bland, Wallace Wise and Edward Bland serving as pallbearers.
Gussie was on born in Evans County on January 19, 1915 to the late Janie Tucker and Eddie Waters. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple where she was actively involved in the Lydia Sunday school class and retired from J.C. Penny after many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Robert T. Rocker; a brother, F. B. Waters
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Diane Loper Green, two grandchildren, Debbie G. Tootle and husband Sid and Tammie G. Nelson and husband Buddy, two Great Grandchildren, Craig M. Tootle and Matthew G. Nelson, all of Savannah, extended family and friends.
