Hilda Jean Nesmith LaFavor, 83, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 at Effingham Care Center. She is preceded in death by a brother, Archie Nesmith. Hilda was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL and attended local schools. She was a Hairdresser in the Savannah area for many years and was a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church. Hilda was very much about family, an all around homemaker and loved gardening. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by a daughter, Janie Diane LaFavor Miller (Stephen) of Springfield; two sons, Gary Willis LaFavor (Evelyn) of Hartsell, AL and Tony Edward LaFavor of Savannah; a brother, Jerry K Williams (Ruthie) of Savannah; four grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews Visitation: 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory on Highway 80, in Garden City. Funeral Service: 10:30am, Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alfred Banks officiating.
