Ida Mae Duncan was born in Savannah, GA on September 21, 1937 to the late Samuel Duncan Sr. and Mattie M. White Duncan. She was christened at birth and baptized at an early age. Ms. Duncan was a faithful member of Second Evergreen Missionary Baptist church for over 75 years.

Ida Mae Duncan was educated in the public schools of Chatham County. She was employed in several careers including The Star Movie Theater and several hotels in the Savannah area. Ms. Duncan also retired form Dr. Julius and Mrs. Nancy Paderewski for a total of 41 years of dedicated service before her health failed.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2017 @ 5:23 P.M. God picked another flower from his garden to bring home. Ida Mae will be welcomed by her parents, Samuel and Mattie Duncan; brothers; Joseph, Earl, and Johnnie Duncan; aunts, Louise Stokes, Lureatha Watson, and Ida Sessions; and grandson, Jaison McDonald.

Ida Mae leaves to cherish her memories, two beloved children, Larry Duncan (Patricia) and Iris McDonald; a multitude of grandchildren; two sisters, Daisy Green (Earnest) and Mildred Beasley; two brothers, Samuels Duncan (Nell)and Harry Lee Duncan; two sisters - in- law, Willie M. Duncan and Patricia Duncan; a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Ida M. Duncan will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from Second Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 667 E. Duffy Street; Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Rev. Henry Gibbs officiating. Reposing at the church 9 am until hour of service.
