Ida Lue Parlor was born November 25, 1923 in Midville, GA to the late Charlie and Pearl Watson. She was the fourth of five siblings whom all preced her in death.
During her youth, Ida was a member of St. Paul CME Church in Savannah, GA where she received Christ at an erly age. She then later joined St. Thomas A.M.E. Church where she served as a faithful member for sixty years.
She was educated in the Georgia school systems. On July 9, 1942, she married Roosevelt Parlor in which he preceded her in death also. This union was richly blessed with nine children.
Not only was Ida a full time mother of nine, she also embraced a host of other families. In addition, she extended herself as a caretaker for children and the elderly for many years. Ida had a culinary gift that many could not resist, such as delicious cakes, succulent mac and cheese, mouth watering homemade yeast rolls and her famous potato salad, just to name a few.
Ida's magnetic, loving, generous spirit drew a spiritual aura which captivated many hearts. Her presence will be truly be missed but "NEVER" forgotten.
She leaves to cherish her memories; daughters, Brenda Solomon (Nathaniel), of Savannah, Georgia, Regina Ellington (James), of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Lisa Campbell, of Liburn, Georgia; sons, Horace Parlor (Naomi), of Hilton Head, SC, James Parlor (Regina) of Dublin, Georgia, Cedric Parlor, of Savannah, Georgia , Charles Parlor (Juanita), of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Anthony Parlor, Hilton Head, SC, Jeffery Parlor, Bonaire, GA; thirty-five plus grandchildren; thirty plus great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service for Mrs. Ida L. Parlor will be held 12:00pm Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Saint Paul C.M.E Church, 1601 Barnard Street, Rev. Da'Henri R. Thurmond, Sr. officiating. Interment, Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Reposing at the church Saturday 9:30am until hour of service.
