Ina Mae Shuman, Pooler, Georgia
Ina Mae Holland Shuman of Pooler passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 16, 1930 in Tattnall County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman W. Shuman, of 54 years of marriage; parents, Barney and Ida Holland (Bell Lynn); brothers, Harry and Dale Holland and a sister, Irma Jean Holland Purvis.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a Christian who loved the Lord and a faithful member of Dean Forest Baptist Church where she served many years and many positions in the church. She retired in 1987 from the Chatham County Board of Education as a Dietician.
She loved to garden, sew, study the Bible and spend time with her grandchildren and family.
Ina Mae is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Harold) Woods, Debra Shuman; a son, Larry (Judy) Shuman; brothers, Gordon Holland, Merrell (Carolyn) Holland, Ronnie (Mae) Holland; a sister, Janice Holland (Jerry) Sapp; six grandchildren, Chris, Allison, Thomas, Jennifer, Laura and Cathy; six great grandchildren, Dylan, Hannah, Rebekah, Ashley, Madlyn and Zoey; seven step great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Remembrances are asked to be made to Dean Forest Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Dean Forest Baptist Church with Rev. Guy Boyd officiating.
Burial: Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
