James Ralph Connor, Jr., 68, of Garden City passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Hospice Savannah.
A native of Savannah, Georgia, he is the son of Savannah Morning News executive, the late James R. Connor, Sr., and World War II Liberty Ship welder, Anna Shuman Connor.
Ralph served his country in the United States Air Force and is a veteran of the Vietnam War, stationed in Ubon, Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand.
He was employed as a Quality Control Engineer in the aerospace industry, retiring to join Savannah cabbies at Yellow Cab. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pooler Georgia Ward.
Survivors include his children, April Connor, Afton C. Vidales, Andrea Chaney, Richard Wade Coppom, and Rachel Ann Rigby; brother, Glenn M. Connor; sister, Sandra C. Traub; grandchildren; and six nephews.
A music-rich, public graveside service will be held Friday, March 11 at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Savannah. Family and friends are invited. Arrive 9:45 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home – Hodgson Chapel (formerly Fairhaven Funeral Home) to join a processional to the cemetery.
