Jasper Williams

Jasper Williams, 88, passed away at home on Tuesday April 24, 2007. He was born in Gifford, SC, but lived in Savannah for over 50 years. He was a member of First Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the usher board. He was employed as a truck driver for Allied Van Line. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by: wife, Mary Williams of Savannah, GA; two sons, Michael L. Williams (Sara) and Jasper L. Williams, both of Savannah, GA; two daughters, Patricia J. Williams and Geri Williams, both of Savannah, GA; three brothers, Willie Smart, NewYork, Jessie Lee Smart, Florida, and Jimmy Smart, Fairfax, SC; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one aunt, Virginia Smart of Gifford, SC; two nieces; and a host of other relatives, family, and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Jasper Williams will be held 11am Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at First Mount Bethel Baptist Church, 124 West Anderson St. Interment: Magnolia Memorial Gardens. Reposing at church from 9am until hour of service.
