Savannah
Jon Richard Pownall died in his home on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. He was 52.
Born in Chicago on the 13th day of August 1958, he was the first son of Jon Robert Pownall and Jean Frances Flanagan Pownall. An exuberant extrovert, Jon's many family members and friends affectionately called him Ricky.
Quick with a smile and a smooth talker, Ricky was a charismatic and articulate man with a sharp sense of humor and a clever mind. Ricky was a natural salesman, which was often helped by his good looks and piercing blue eyes. In his life he loved fishing, antiques, old cars, small children and most of all his son, Jake.
He is survived and sorely missed by his son, Jake Pownall, of Savannah; his sister, Lynda Pownall-Carlson, of Middlesex, NY; and his brother Thomas G. Pownall, of Lima, NY. It is a difficult thing to lose such an animated man who was, and will remain, so very dear to our hearts.
Ricky had many stories to tell and as a tribute to his brilliant and sometimes troubled life, we invite you to share a story or your thoughts about him. It is by learning how Ricky touched the lives of so many that he will live on in our minds.
We will all miss him.
Please visit our Tribute Wall and share your thoughts and pictures with the Jon Richard (Ricky) Pownall family.
