Mr. Joseph Bernard Johnson, was called to be with the Lord at the age of 53 on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Hospice of Savannah.
Bernard was born April 25, 1959 in Chatham County to the late Ms. Carline Johnson. He was the oldest of four siblings and had three daughters. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Little Bryant Baptist Church. He attended Savannah High School in Savannah, GA. He was employed with Georgia Port Authority and Delmonte for several years.
Mr. Joseph Bernard Johnson was a strong working man who took care of and provided for his family. He was a loving, caring, compassionate person, who helped and touched everyone he met. He extended his love not just to his family but also to his friends. He was a patient kind listener. He never talked much, but was always a good listener. He was truly a wise man that loved and cared for his family unconditionally.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Samantha R. Cansler of Savannah, GA, Carol D. Cansler of Atlanta, GA, and Lateasha M. Cansler of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Samontae Cansler of Savannah, GA, Caronte Cansler, Carleena McNeal and Carlos Cansler of Atlanta, GA; siblings, Michael Johnson (Debra), Eric Johnson, Sr., and Ervin Johnson, Sr.; a loving aunt, Doris Frazier (Arthur, Sr.) of Savannah, GA; also included are other family members, Arthur Frazier (Sheliah), Janet Baker (Dennis), David Frazier, Sr. (Debra) of Savannah, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Home Going Celebration will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 14, 2012 from Second Arnold Baptist Church, 1427 East 37th Street, with the Rev. Quentin J. Morris, Sr. officiating. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery. Reposing at the church from 9:00 am until hour of service.
