Juanita “Nita” Duff Taunton, age 89, died Wednesday evening, April 11, 2012 at Oceanside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Tybee Island.
Graveside rites will be held at 1:00 pm, (CST) Saturday, April 14, 2012 from Jackson Gap Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson Gap Alabama with her grandson Chad Mahan officiating, with interment to follow.
Nita was born in Abilene, Texas on February 15, 1923 to the late I. J. Duff, Sr. and Etta Cornelia Moize Duff. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in McCaysville, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Harold Taunton; two brothers, three sisters and a grandson, Mark Mahan.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Taunton and wife Edith of Brunswick, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy Ann Keeler and husband Ron of Sevierville, TN, Linda Mahan of Blue Ridge, GA, Shelia Stone of Savannah and Teri Crosby and husband Kenneth of Plant City, Florida, twelve grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and one brother and sister-in-law, Buford Duff and wife Saleta of Level land, TX.
