Mr. Kennith Leon Dyson, 53, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
"I have journeyed long and suffered much, but now i am graced with the Lord's touch. Eternal Life has been given to me and I have finally laid down in peace. I have entered into my Master's glory and now I am free."
The spirit of Kennith Leon Dyson had his humble beginning in a loving family environment that provided countless opportunities for him to receive peace, love and happiness. Kennith, affectionately known as "Kenny", was born December 15, 1958, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Marion and Rosa Lee Dyson. One sibling, Carl Dyson, also preceded him in death.
"Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it"... Proverbs 22:6
Seeking divine guidance at an early age from his mother and father, Kennith confessed Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at First Mount Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T.J. Simmons. As a lifelong member, Kennith was very active in his attendance until his failing health. He served in the Food Ministry, the Sunday School, and the Mission and Brotherhood Ministries. He always gave his all to endeavors when asked to assist.
He was educated in the public school system of Savannah, Georgia and graduated from Jenkins High School, Class of 1977. Later he went on to join the United States Marines. After returning to Savannah, upon his assignmnet with the Marine Corp, he became employed with Welsh Pawn Shop.
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.
The spirit of Kennith Leon Dyson was filled with Love and devotion to his family. It was with the faitful spirit that he humbly submitted when he accepted the call to eneter into the garden of peace, where the wicked shall cease from troubling and the weary shall be at rest on Saturday, May 5, 2012.
He leaves to cherish his living legacy, a devoted step-mother, Mrs. Margaret Williams-Dyson; brother, Avon Dyson; three sisters, Marie Bowman, Vickie Capers and Tanya Humes; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, May 17, 2012 from First Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 124 West Anderson Street. Interment, Woodville Cemetery.
