Laura Mae Riley whose maiden name is Laura Mae Williams, was born in Yamasee, South Carolina on March 9, 1951 to Clarence Williams and Lottie Mae Green.
She attended Robert Smalls High School. Laura moved to Savannah, Georgia on or about 1972. Since that time, she has remained in Savannah all of her life. She worked for the city of Savannah for several years until medical reasons forced her to stop. Forever strong, determined, and independent, Laura never allowed her health issues to stop her from being active.
Laura was a very resourceful person. She could take a little and make a lot. Her incredible smile matched the goodwill of her heart. This was evident in how she showed her love for her children. She loved ceramics and often displayed many of them throughout her home.
Laura leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Ralph Riley, Sammie Riley, Jr., Roxanne Riley and Rochelle Riley; brother, Nathaniel Green; sister, Louise Riley; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
