Lester Williams was born on December 12, 1930 in Sylvania, Georgia to Robert Williams and Viola Williams. He attended the public school system of Screven County.
He served in the U.S. Army. After receiving an Honorable discharge, he attended G.I. School taking up auto mechanics. He retired from Union Camp in 1977 after working there for 38 years.
His mother and father both preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 31 years, Roselene Williams; two sons, Eugene Williams, Sr. and Robert Williams (Tia); sisters, Emma Williams, Elizabeth McCall and Claudia Roberts; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, Eugenia (AK), Lillian, Charlie (Terrica), Janet, Yinessa, Japonica, Jameka, Janea, Kiara, Brittany, Richard, Nefertiti, Ndanu, Jayden, Charlie, Jr., Joshua, Kalia, Kimora, Ke'Naz, Steven, and Domeer (Natalia); and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lester Williams will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Chapel of Williams & Williams Funeral Home, 1012 East Gwinnett Street. Interment will follow in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, South Carolina.
