Linda Mathis Allen

Ms. Linda M. Coleman Mathis-Allen, 59, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 24th, 2013 at Memorial Medical University.
Linda was a native of Savannah and attended the public schools of Chatham County. She was a graduate of Richard Arnold High School, Class of 1971. She attended Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Linda was a faithful and dedicated member of First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Linda served as a deaconess on the deaconess board, the finance committee and the Annie Grubbs/Annie Anderson Mission Ministry as secretary. She was a youth Sunday School teacher, a member of the Senior Choir and Sunday School Class Number One.
She worked at Southeastern Medical Equipment, Savannah Medical Equipment and Aetna Healthcare. Linda served as a volunteer with Candler/St. Joseph's volunteer program & Hospice of Savannah.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Freddie Allen, and also by her parents, Roy and Daisy Bell Coleman, and one sister, Evelyn C. Russell. She is survived by one daughter, Calandra Knight-Ervin; two sons, Anthony Knight of Salinas, California and Justin Swinton of Savannah. Linda leaves behind five precious grandchildren, Malik, Jamari, Marquis, Jailyn, and Joshua; one brother, John Willie Foreman; two sisters, Lois F. Bangs and Carolyn Coleman Robertson (Leon); one uncle, Jessie Pierce of Brooklyn, New York; two aunts, Albertha Clark of St. Petersburg, Florida and Pearl Foreman of Brooklyn, New York; a brother-in-law, Willie C. Russell of Birmingham, Alabama; a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Visitation: 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Bonaventure Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 310 Alice Street, Savannah.
