Dr. Margaret D. James, daughter of the late Manuel C. Dinkins and Ella S. Dinkins was born in Tuskegee, Alabama and was married to Dr. Jeffrey James September 6, 1969. She confessed Christ at an early age, and was a faithful servant to the Lord as an usher, deaconess, and coordinator in Vacation Bible School in her church life. She graduated from Tuskegee Institute High School in 1962, Tennessee State A & I in 1966, received her Masters of Science in Botany in 1972, her Education Specialist degree at Armstrong Atlantic State University in 1994, and her Doctorate in Education at South Carolina State University in 2000. She has been teaching and touching the lives of students for over 35 years as longtime instructor at Savannah High, Beach High, and Shuman Middle Schools. She was an active member of the National Teachers Association and the Georgia Teachers Association. She also served as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She completed her earthly service and entered into eternal life on Monday, February 4, 2008. She leaves to cherish her memories, most notably: Dr. Jeffrey James, husband; Judge Aubrey Ford, Jr., brother- in-law; Jimmy (Albertha) Priester, brother-in-law; Willie (Laverne) Priester brother- in-law; Dr. Audra Ford, niece; Winston Ford, nephew; Rimeek Ford, nephew; Connie Hodges, niece; Rose Hodges, niece; Jazmenn Hodges, niece; Touro Harris; George Harris, Bessie Mason, Patricia Mason, Carl S. Young, Harold Young, Ralph Young, Ephraim Thompson, Anne Quarterman, Shantyre Quarterman, cousins, and a host of other family, friends, co workers, and students, throughout the world. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 10, 2008 from 6-7:30 P.M. in the Williams and Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Monday February 11, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 1008 May Street. Interment will be on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Ashdale Cemetery in Tuskegee, Alabama. Reposing at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
