Mr. Marion Eugene Devoe Sr., 81, passed away on January 30, 2008 at Hospice of Savannah. He was born in Savannah and attended public school in Chatham County. He was a 1948 graduate of Beach Cyler High School. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. He was a communicate of St. Benedict The Moore Catholic Church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus No. 10274. He retired from the Post Office as a mail handler after 37 years of service. He is survived by: four sons, Marion E. Devaux Jr., (Shirley) of Baltimore, MD, Alfred Devoe, Bernard Devoe (Bridgett), and Joseph Tyrone Devoe (Gail), all of Savannah, GA; two daughters, Frances Reynolds, and Carlethia Jenkins (Lee Fonzer); twelve grands; eleven great- grands; step-mother, Willie Jimmie Devoe of Valdosta, GA; two brothers, Benjamin Devoe of Savannah, GA, and Mr. Kirkland Ward of Florida; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Floyd; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Edith Davis of Jamaica, Long Island, Wilianne Ward, Lila Ward and Mrs. Jackie Beasley of Richmond Hill, GA; one brother- in-law, Mr. Jeremiah Beasley of Richmond Hill, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will be receiving company at 1406 W. W. Law.Funeral services for Marion E. DeVoe, Sr., will be held 11am Friday, February 8, 2008 at St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church, 556 E. Gordon St. Interment: Beaufort National Cemetery. Christian Wake: Thursday 6-7:30 pm at the church
