Marvin Herbert Saxon, 89, of Savannah, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at Memorial University Medical Center.
He was born in Perkins, Ga., and was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Boyd Saxon, and his sister, Christine Lamb, and two brothers, Charles & Lamar Saxon, and his parents, Henry Saxon and Edna Chance Saxon.
He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the US Navy, and the Korean Conflict serving in the US Air Force.
He attended Bible Baptist Church, a member of the Eagle’s, and the Chatham County Sheriff’s Volunteers.
He was the owner of Saxon Appliance Service Center, since 1973.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hickman Cowart Saxon, of Savannah, Ga., daughter & son in law, Nell Saxon Miley (Tommy), of Savannah, Ga; brother & sister in law, Harvey Saxon (Marsha), of Savannah,Ga; sister and brother in law, Elma Donaldson (Richard) of Atlanta, Ga; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Maddox( James), of Pooler, Ga; and Bryan Miley of Savannah, Ga; 1 great grandchild, Kinsley Maddox, of Pooler, Ga.
Visitation: 1 – 2 p.m. Monday (August 24th, 2015) in the chapel of Bonaventure Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Monday (August 24th, 2015) in the chapel of Bonaventure Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Miller, officiating.
The family would like to send special thanks to Danny and Ray Winn, Bryan Miley and Harvey Saxon, as well as his caregivers, Patsy Harris, Roselyn Jackson, Ruthie Lewis and Joyce Walker.
Interment: will be private.
