Ms. Mary Madgeline Williams was born October 7, 1938 in Marlboro, South Carolina to the late Mary Madgeline Williams Warren. She was educated in Spartanburg, South Carolina at the School for the Deaf and Blind.
Shortly after moving to Savannah, Georgia she joined the West Broad Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she served faithfully until her passing. She was the President of the Choraliers Gospel Choir, a member of the Community Services, Leader and Member and the Assistant Superintendent of the Sabbath School. She was a member of the Savannah Association for the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind.
Blind since age 3, she was a stand operator for 27 years before retiring in 2001.
Her brother, Mr. Joe Sephes Williams preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: sister, Albertine Warren Green of Darlington, SC; niece, Hannah Green of Greensboro, NC; two nephews, Thomas Green of Lithonia, GA and Warren Green (Kathea) of Austell, GA; grand niece, Kaalex Ash-Green of Austell, GA; grand nephew, Alex Ash Green of Austell, GA; two special cousins, Earlie Perkins (Robert) of Bellarose, NY and Annie Ruth Brown of Baltimore, MD; four Godchildren, Cynthia Moore, Cortni Moore, Kiarra Moore and Brandon Williams of Savannah, GA; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6~7 PM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Funeral service for Mary M. Williams will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2013 at West Broad Seventh Day Adventist Church, Elder Robert Green, Jr. officiating. Interment, Woodville Cemetery. Reposing at the Church from 9:00 AM until hour of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Federation of the Blind.
