Maryland James Grant

Maryland J. Grant, 79 , passed away Monday December 24, 2007 at Hospice of Savannah. She was a native of Denmark, SC, but lived in Savannah for the past 55 years. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a member of the usher board and a former member of the N.A.A.C.P. She is survived by: two sons, Henry Allen Grant and Jerry Grant; two daughters, Meshell McRell (Jerrell), and Veronica Devoe (N.J.); dear cousin, Mayor Kerrie Simmons (Denmark, SC); five grands; seven great grands; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Maryland Grant will be held 12 Noon Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1201 Abercorn Street, with Pastor Beverly Flowers, officiating. Reposing at the Church from 10 a.m., until hour of service.
